Maxima
Maxima is a super-soft merino fiber yarn whose light single-ply construction makes it so cuddly. This yarn by Manos del Uruguay is hand-dyed by artisans using big pots heated by wood kettles in small batches. The colors are bright and wild, full of nuances and variations. With Maxima’s popular worsted-weight gauge, it has plenty of uses, from sweaters to mittens.
Manos del Uruguay is a Fair Trade organization that was founded to give Uruguay’s rural women jobs that provide not just an income, but also an opportunity to personally develop and gain independence, keeping their roots and traditions, close to their community and families. Every yarn produced by these women has a tag with the artisan's signature and the name of the village where it was produced.
