April-June BIPOC Giving Project - Material Planning Guide
Posted by Maya Gooding on Apr 4th 2022
Our April-June Giving Project features a crochet and knit project by two talented designers. From Tif Neilan we knit the Beachcomb top. We love the touch of herringbone stitch! The super fun to crochet and wear Meira Ruffle Top comes to us from Natalia McHayle.
For both projects, we suggest Lana Grossa Ecopuno, a light-as-air sport-weight blend of cotton, merino wool, and alpaca. We love Ecopuno for all our warm-weather projects, like feathery shawls, gauzy cardigans, and fun, breezy tops (like both of our Giving Project designs!)
Please note that the amount of balls listed below is only accurate for the suggested yarn, Lana Grossa Ecopuno. If you would like to make the piece in another yarn, please calculate your needed yardage as normal or give us a call and we can help you out!

Crochet: Meira Ruffle Crop Top by Natalia McHayle
This fun and flirty spring/summer top is a perfect wear-alone or layering piece (think of it over a dress for a little extra coverage on a warm day!) We love it in a bright bold color like the one on Natalia, but it'd also be pretty perfect in a soft neutral. Suggested 2-4" positive ease.
Cropped length:
34", 40" & 43" - 4 balls
46" - 5 balls
50" & 56" - 6 balls
