Learn To Crochet: A Six-Month Journey for Beginners Discover the joy of crochet in this welcoming, small-group class designed for beginners. Over six months, you'll build a strong foundation in crochet skills, progressing from your first chain stitch to completed projects you'll be proud to use or gift.
We'll cover essential techniques including foundation chains, basic stitches (single, half-double, double, and treble crochet), reading patterns, increasing and decreasing, working in the round, changing colors, and basic finishing techniques. Each session builds on the last, giving you time to practice and gain confidence between meetings.
The class meets twice in the first two weeks to help you establish solid beginning skills, then continues with monthly sessions for the remainder of the course. You'll receive beginning materials and a reference book to get you started—after that, you'll choose and provide your own materials for class projects, allowing you to work on pieces that inspire you.
This isn't just about learning stitches—it's about building connections. Our small group setting creates space for encouragement when you hit a tricky section, celebration when you finish a project, and the kind of supportive crafting community that makes the learning journey even more rewarding.
