Gnome FUNdamentals
Learn the basics of Sarah Schira’s gnome patterns with Gnoodles, the simplest and smallest gnome in “The Gnomes of Grimblewood” book. Knit on DK-weight yarn using your choice of knitting in the round methods.
In this class with Sarah, you will learn the fundamentals of gnomes/toys, including i-cord, stuffing, sewing pieces, dealing with ends, picking up stitches, and more. We will deal with the smaller pieces first to learn those skills and work part of the hat before putting it on scrap yarn so we can pick up and start the body. Sarah will demonstrate all steps for Gnoodles during the class, but Gnoodles will not be completed.
In order to complete your Gnoodles, you will recieve a PDF with knitting instructions from the book on how to complete your gnome. Book purchase not required, but copies will be available at The Endless Skein for purchase just in case you get gnome fever!
Class will be held from 10:00 -1:00 on Wednesday, October 23.
Cost is $75 and there is a maximum of 8 students.
Students should be able to knit, purl, and work in the round with either DPNs, magic loop or two circulars.
Yarn will be supplied but students will need their own needles in sizes US 3 and US 4 as well as their knitting notions.
