Charity Knitting and Crocheting

We invite you to join us in knitting and crocheting items for local charities. Visit us during store hours to pick up free yarn to knit or crochet items for these initiatives, and drop off the completed items when you're done!

We have donated over 300 hats to Hudson Valley non-profit Keep It Moving, which delivers them to young people in need. We have also donated bundles of hand-knitted and crocheted items to the Philipstown Food Pantry, for distribution to local families.

Our generous community of crafters are also knitting and crocheting Knitted Knockers: soft, comfortable prosthetics for breast cancer survivors. Stop by The Endless Skein to pick up a free kit to knit or crochet Knitted Knockers for a breast cancer survivor. Each kit includes patterns for knitters and crocheters, plus the yarn to make a pair of Knockers. Please note: Knitters must be comfortable knitting small circumferences with DPNs or Magic Loop to make Knitted Knockers.

We also accept donations for Project Linus and Knit the Rainbow -- see below for more details!

The Endless Skein is proud to be a drop-off location for Knit the Rainbow, a non-profit organization that distributes warm hand-knitted and crocheted items to unhoused and at-risk LGBTQ+ youth.

Project Linus: Help us give back!

Project Linus provides love and sense of security, warmth and comfort, to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. We are giving back to the community through gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.” The Endless Skein is excited to be able to support Project Linus as a collection point for finished blankets. We can also provide information for those who wish to support Project Linus.
