You voted and now we announce our 2026 Rhinebeck Sweaters: introducing the Olga Jacket for our knitters and a choice of cardigans for our crocheters, the She Sells Seashells Cardigan or the Fallon Cardigan.
Be sure to read all the way to the bottom for all details!
Special Technique Workshops:
Wednesday, July 8 from 1:30-3:00 and repeated again on Saturday, July 11 from 3:00-4:30.
The Olga Jacket by Olga Putano Designs is worked continuously, in one piece - triangle by triangle, in garter stitch and ribbing. Surprisingly easy - only a handful of techniques are used, but extremely engaging and fun! From start to finish - this project will be just as comforting and exciting to knit as it will be to wear!

The She Sells Seashells Cardigan and the Fallon Cardigan will be cozy no matter the choice. With it's lovely shells design pattern the She Sells Seashells Cardigan by Zeens & Roger will be a joy to crochet. The Fallon Cardigan by Michelle Ferguson with it's fun herringbone half double crochet stitch and traditional silhouette will be a wardrobe staple.
This year we are hoping that you will participate in the Sweaters For Good Campaign and create a Rhinebeck Sweater out of a Hudson Valley or US produced wool. Click here to make the pledge!
Here is how things will work this year:
1) Let us know if you will be joining our craftalong this year either by signing up in store or by using our online contact form. If you would be interested in a Zoom meetup please let us know and we will see what we can do!
2) Meet Ups will occur each week during our Open Crafting sessions. Free quick help on projects will be offered during those sessions. All other project help will fall within our usual policy for project help or private lessons.
3) Our official kick off meet up will be from 3:00-4:30 on June 13!
4) Our local yarn, MJ's Sport & Mountain Meadow Cody, will be offered at a 10% discount from the kick off day, June 13, thru June 30.
5) We will meet to celebrate our finished (or almost finished) projects :
October 10 from 3:00-4:30 at The Endless Skein for photos and refreshments.
At the Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool Festival on October 17 & 18 at 1:00pm inside the 4H Gate 2 for photos!
6). Did you notice that we have NOT mentioned anything about any specific pattern. We would love you to join us in crafting one of our voted on cardigans. That being said, please join us no matter what you choose to craft for Rhinebeck! It is always more fun to work side by side with fellow crafters.
Planning Guide: Please begin by constructing a good gauge swatch for your project. Need help with gauge work, here is our Gauge Guide.
Gauge for the Olga Jacket: 16 stitches and 32 rows of garter stitch over 4 inches. Suggested needle size for gauge is US 4 but lots of made projects are suggesting US 6-8.
The She Sells Seashells Cardigan: 19 dc and 10 rows over 4 inches on a suggested 3mm hook.
The Fallon Cardigan: 16 herringbone half double crochet and 13 rows over 4 inches on suggested H/8 (5mm) hook. The herringbone half double crochet stitch is explained in the pattern and with tutorial video.
We are hoping that you will try our new MJ's Sport which is a Hudson Valley grown and produced yarn....and uniquely ours. It will pair well with our US grown and produced Mountain Meadow Cody. Please consider supporting our wool farmers by choosing these yarns and knitting or crocheting a Sweater for Good.
If you don't think a Sweater for Good is for you, you can certainly knit or crochet a good (or great) sweater with many of our lovely suggestions. Take a look at:
