Spotlight on the NY Textile Supply Chain Internship

Spotlight on the NY Textile Supply Chain Internship

Posted by Cindy on Dec 3rd 2025

Now through the end of December 2025, when you purchase yarn at The Endless Skein to knit Mona Zillah's Heart Warming Mitts, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Hudson Valley Textile Project (HVTP), a nonprofit focused on strengthening our textile supply chain.

Specifically, the funds raised through this project will support HVTP's new Textile Supply Chain Internship program, which will welcome its first cohort of participants in 2026. This new program received a small endowment in memory of HVTP's long-time friend and advisor Sara Bauer, of the well-loved Yarns at Yin Hoo podcast, who passed away earlier this year. HVTP is continuing to raise funds to help Sara’s nest egg multiply and enable the organization to offer important growth and learning opportunities to makers and textile entrepreneurs.

At Sara Bauer's memorial service, HVTP Co-Founder and Acting Executive Director MJ Packer spoke of how Sara would "weave connections wherever she went, much like the textiles she was so passionate about." As a member of HVTP's advisory council, Sara "brought both vision and practical wisdom, helping us to see possibilities where others saw obstacles, and making connections where others saw separate threads."

Through her podcast, Sara shared her thoughtful voice, creativity, and sense of wonder with countless makers. She was also a talented knitwear designer. Be sure to check out the patterns Sara designed.

Now through December 6, 2025, you can bid on items in the Sara Lee Bauer Memorial Auction, a special online fundraising event featuring her original handknit, upcycled, and wearable art garments and jewelry. Each piece reflects her artistry, her love of storytelling through fiber, and her commitment to sustainability and creativity.

Tickets are available for the Memorial Gala Dinner & Yin Hoo Foundation for the Arts Launch on December 6, 2025, which will honor Sara Bauer's legacy and benefit the Yin Hoo Foundation for the Arts — a living tribute to Sara's spirit of artistry, creativity, and connection.
