How did you get started in color analysis?
I’ve always wanted a closet full of clothes that suited me and that I liked so one day at the library (about 5-6 years ago) I discovered a book called “Color Me Beautiful” and learned there’s a system called “seasonal color analysis” which can actually tell a person what colors look good or bad on them. I was hooked after finding that book! I eventually got a color analysis and then got trained in how to analyze others. I have also taken many certification courses and mentoring in styling since then.
What’s your most popular offering?
My Signature Color and Style Experience is great for anyone wanting to not only learn the best colors for them, but to also understand which styles of clothing, glasses, accessories, hairstyles (etc) will suit them. I like to say it’s the foundational skills they need to look polished and put together.
What do you love about this work?
It is so rewarding to work with a client and see how much they transform after learning their best colors and styles. I never get tired of seeing the transformations!
What has surprised you?
Human coloring is very interesting! I have met some clients and initially thought they would be flattered by a certain color only to color analyze them and realize that other colors would be much better.
What can people expect to learn from the class you’re teaching here (“Choosing the Right Color for Your Garment”)?
Any person who knits or crochets should DEFINITELY have basic knowledge of colors that work with their undertone. I have worked with many knitters and they all love how color analysis has helped them with choosing their best yarn colors!
What’s on the horizon?
I’m expanding some of my services this year which will include packages that offer closet and wardrobe edits (going through client closet and purging what doesn’t work and creating new outfits from their existing wardrobe items) and personal shopping.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
I’m very excited to share my knowledge with fellow knitters! Color analysis has personally helped me a lot with knowing which yarn colors will work for me -- and which won’t -- and I think it will really help others as well!
